Mini Research Project
As a final part of our pre-reading learning you are going to participate in a individual mini-research project. On Thursday, we will discuss research tip as a class. This is something we will do throughout the semester, but the most important thing in any research is to cite your sources AND use credible sources. Please check Schoology for tips on how to use credible sources. If you do not cite your sources OR use credible ones you will get a 0 on this research project.

4) The rise of Jim Crow Laws
5) The ending of Jim Crow Laws
6) The Civil Right’s Movement in AL
7) Harper Lee’s life leading up to “TKM”
8) Changes made in Alabama after the Civil Rights Movement 1963
9) Southern race relations in 1932 & 1961
10) Truman Capote & his relationship to Lee
11) Horton Foote and the film of To Kill a Mockingbird
12) Leaders of the Civil Rights Movement
13) Gender equality/lack of in AL in 1930’s/1960’s
How must your project be submitted:
Option 1: Write a research paper
Option 2: Create a presentation
Option 3: Do something creative, a video, an infographic, a brochure, a story/drawing board (as long as you can voice over the information)
Option 4: Create an informational Speech (record and submit)
Make sure that all questions required in your topic are submitted through your project. I do not want to undermine any of your creativity or gifts; research can be presented in many different modes, so this is our first chance to do it!
